Undergraduate Advising

Welcome to the Undergraduate Academic Advising Center!

The UAAC will operate on a first-come, first-served basis from Thursday, January 2nd, through Friday, January 10th. There will be no scheduled appointments during this time.

UAAC Mission and Advisement Services

The UAAC provides comprehensive and developmental student support services to empower students to achieve academic success by:

  • Building supportive relationships and fostering confidence;
  • Guiding students through the transition to college and throughout their higher education journey;
  • Serving as referral and liaison to facilitate resolution;
  • Serving as student advocates through empathic listening and reframing;
  • Teaching students to identify, support, and understand university policies and procedures.

15-Minute Walk-In Advising

Our walk-in advising format is a concise 15-minute session on a first-come-first-served basis intended for brief guidance to move you forward in your academic process.

Walk-In Advising Hours:

Monday-Wednesday-Friday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Tuesday & Thursday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

*Please check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the end of walk-in service hours.

Note: The following are services that can only be provided during a scheduled one-hour appointment with your advisor:

  • Academic Plans
  • New Student Appointments
  • Audits
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress Reviews
  • Change of Major

Degree-Applicable Credits Policy

First-time-in-college students who have earned college credits while in high school may elect not to transfer their college credits into NSU. In some cases, this would enable a student to retake a specific course at NSU without financial aid limitations. If this applies to you, notify your academic advisor and complete the necessary request before the end of the drop/add period of your first semester at NSU. Please discuss with your academic advisor in advance if you have any questions.

The deadline for submission of the Credit Award Adjustment Form is by the “end of drop/add” of the first enrolled semester国产偷拍视频 for students to request that incoming college credit or credits are not applied towards their degree. For the 2019/2020 academic calendar, the drop/add dates are as follows:

Fall 2019 August 25, 2019
Winter 2020 January 12, 2020
Summer 2020 May 10, 2020
